Herbal Medicine for Uncertain Times

  • Chicory Blue General Store 27 School Rd Blockhouse, NS (map)

Free In-Person Workshop

Donations will be accepted to the Chicory Blue Teach-in accessibility fund.

Many people today feel stressed, unheard, or unsupported in the healthcare system. Chronic health issues are on the rise, and it can be hard to find care that feels personal, empowering, and connected to overall wellbeing. We also live in a world increasingly disconnected from the land that sustains us, and this affects our health.

Herbal medicine offers a practical and transformative way to meet these challenges. Through herbalism, we learn to live in closer connection with nature, develop tools to support our own health, and cultivate skills that can benefit our families and communities. At a deeper level, herbalism can be an empowering force for collective good, and a way for us to heal ourselves and the earth that nourishes us.

Join this free workshop to explore what herbalism can offer you in these times. You’ll learn my core approach to an ethical and effective herbal practice—skills that you can apply to your own health. You’ll also get hands-on experience sampling herbs and discovering the six foundational herbal actions, which are an intuitive shorthand for accelerating your herbal skills. Lastly, we’ll put it all together with some practical herbal support for those lingering spring colds.

This workshop will also give a preview of our upcoming classes starting in May 2025. The times we live in call for intention, skill, and heart—qualities that herbalism nurtures. Come join experienced clinical herbalist Oren Hercz to build your confidence, deepen your connection with plants, and explore your path with herbal medicine.

We do have a space limit, so even thought the class is free, please register in advance.
