Roots & Barks Solidarity Medicine Making Day

  • Maple Grove Permaculture 47 Lawrence Road Maple Grove, Nova Scotia, B0N 1T0 Canada (map)

Late Fall is the season we make medicine with roots and barks and an important time for gathering for learning, community and connection with the land. In this workshop we’ll learn about the medicine that Cramp Bark and Stinging Nettle root have to offer. We’ll discuss harvesting ethics and land tending then get to know the two plants we are working with going in-depth on the botany, indications for herbal use and dosage. We will work together to harvest, process and prepare potent medicinal tinctures from these plants.

100% of the profits from the workshop will go to Seeds of Solidarity and their vital work supporting frontline food growing and sovereignty projects in Palestine, Sudan, Cuba, Niger, and Congo.

This workshop is taking place at Maple Grove Permaculture in Sɨpekne’katik, within Unceded Mi’kmaq Territory. Located 1 hour from Halifax, 35 mins from Truro, and 55mins from Windsor.

The workshop facilitators are local clinical herbalists Ember Peters and Kaleigh McGregor-Bales.

This workshop will be taking place primarily outdoors, please come prepared with warm weather appropriate clothing, as well as a picnic lunch.
